Monday, 16th January, 2017:
We have decided to change our name in 2017, and released the following statement last October: "We will not continue to work under our current name while the systemic persecution and murder of Black people in the USA continues. We will complete all gigs booked under our current name until Februaury 2017, after which we will be working under the name Lankum, which comes from the ballad ‘False Lankum’, as sung by Irish Traveller John Reilly Jr. As always, we will continue to stand in firm solidarity with oppressed, marginalised and displaced people, both here in Ireland and internationally Warm regards, Cormac, Daragh, Ian and Radie."

We'll be taking the 'Cold Old Fire' vinyls on a whistlestop tour of the UK & Ireland this Autumn, beginning in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on Friday the 2nd of October, then on to Belfast, Wicklow, Galway and Ennis, before heading over to the UK for two and a half weeks of gigs. Daunting and exciting stuff! Check the gigs section for the full list of dates.
Thursday, 10th September, 2015:
We are delighted to finally announce the arrival of 'Cold Old Fire' on vinyl. It comes in double LP format, on 180g vinyl along with a download code for a digital version of the album with two bonus tracks, one of which has not yet seen the light of day. It is due to go on sale on the 2nd of October, to coincide with our tour of Ireland and the UK, but can be pre-ordered on our online shop. For more information on tour dates, check the gigs section.
Wednesday, 12th August, 2015:
We've got some new ladies style t-shirts available (modelled here by the wonderful Miss Radie Peat). They'll be available to buy at any of our upcoming gigs, or alternatively you can order them on our online shop here. There are two different prints, 'Cold Old Fire' (see above) and 'The Black Pool', both by Glyn Smyth at Stag & Serpent. Both shirts also have a nape logo print. Pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.
Sunday, 7th July, 2015:
We've just uploaded two previously unheard live tracks to our Soundcloud page. The tracks, 'Sergeant William Bailey' and 'The Turkish Reveille' were kindly recorded by Ian O' Donoghue (who incidentally did a great job on sound) at our gig in The Sugar Club, Dublin on the 28th of June. Enjoy!
Monday, 15th June, 2015:
For those of you in Dublin, stick Sunday the 28th of June into your diaries or calendars or digital reminders or what have you, for we shall be gracing the boards of The Sugar Club of Leeson Street for an intimate one-off performance. We are also excited to announce that the multi-talented man about town known to one and all as John 'The Flyer' Flynn will be joining us as a special guest on the night. Tickets are available here (online booking fee applies).
Tuesday, 9th June, 2015:
We're very much excited to say that we have been included in the line up for the Edmonton Folk Festival, which was announced earlier this week. This is our first gig in Canada since the now-legendary North American tour of 2006, back when we were naught but a pair of unwashed rapscallions with more heart than talent. Hopefully we can redeem ourselves this time...
Monday, 11th May, 2015:
We've a number of festivals coming up in the next couple of months, including Salmon Leap Festival near Dublin, Folkfest Killarney, Cambridge Folk Festival and Sidmouth Folk Festival (with Andy Irvine!). So hopefully we'll catch you somewhere along the way!.
